


Winter hiking course (Tavascan)
Introductory course to the winter mountain aimed at people who already practice high mountain hiking in summer and want to start progressing in Nordic-type terrain outside of skiable areas.

Itinerary
Day 1 · Avalanche terrain safety training
You will learn to use winter safety equipment (transceiver, shovel, and probe), identify avalanche risk in the terrain, and apply avalanche rescue protocols. Later in the afternoon, you will participate in a talk on winter route planning where you will discover tools such as the BPA and avalanche cartography.
Day 2 · Ascent to a peak in winter conditions
If conditions permit, you will put into practice the knowledge acquired the previous day to carry out an efficient and safe route to one of the most emblematic peaks of the Tavascan cirque, enjoying the reward of the views offered by this fantastic viewpoint of the Western Pyrenees.
