Introductory course to the winter mountains for those who already practice high mountain activities in summer and want to start progressing on Nordic-style terrain outside of skiable areas.

Itinerary

Day 1 · Avalanche Safety Training

You will learn to use winter safety equipment (transceiver, shovel, and probe), identify avalanche risk in the terrain, and apply the avalanche rescue protocol. Later, in the afternoon, you will participate in a talk on winter route planning where you will discover tools like the BPA and avalanche mapping.

Day 2 · Ascent to a Peak in Winter Conditions

If conditions permit, you will put into practice the knowledge acquired the previous day to carry out an efficient and safe route to one of the most emblematic peaks of the Tavascan cirque, enjoying the reward of the views offered by this fantastic viewpoint of the Western Pyrenees.
